Digital Collage
Through psychedelic compositions, I create strange, emotionally saturated “forever moments”. These artificial “forever moments” are being experienced by the figures within my collages both forever and never. The situations created are so impossible and hyperbolic, that they could never really exist, but are lasting snapshots of a moment perpetuated for the viewers and the characters experiencing it. My work is heavily influenced by contemporary Surrealism, for reasons best described by Ning Su, “The main idea of surrealism is based on the subconscious mind. Mystery and fantasy, staggered time and space; mutually exclusive dreams and reality replace the objective existence of the truth with an appearance of an unconscious world” (Su, Ning. 2011).
